This scholarship recognises students who demonstrate outstanding academic ability and a sustained commitment to excellence in their learning.

• The Year 7 Academic Scholarships are open to both new and current º«Å®Ðã Year 5 students progressing into Year 7 in 2028.
• The Years 9 and 11 Academic Scholarships are open to new students only.

Following the Academic Assessment Services examination, shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview with the Principal.

This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional musical talent, dedication, and a genuine passion for performance.

• The Year 7 Music Scholarships are open to both new students and current º«Å®Ðã Year 5 students entering Year 7 in 2028.
• The Years 9 and 11 Music Scholarships are open to new students only. Current º«Å®Ðã students are ineligible to apply.

Music Scholarships provide 50% remission of tuition fees and 50% remission of fees for the student’s principal instrument tuition, as charged by º«Å®Ðã FCJ College. Scholarships are tenable for the duration of the student’s enrolment at the College, subject to ongoing review.

Recipients are expected to maintain active participation in the College’s co-curricular music program and to contribute to ensembles, recitals, concerts, and other musical events as required by the Director of Music.

Following the academic examination process, shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a 20-minute audition with the Director of Music, relevant Head of Department, and, where applicable, an external specialist musician.

Audition Process

Auditions will include:

• Two contrasting prepared pieces (maximum total duration of 10 minutes)
• A sight-reading exercise (provided at the audition)
• A short aural assessment (rhythm, melody, and pitch)
• A brief music theory component relevant to the repertoire prepared

Applicants who present on more than one instrument may audition on a second instrument, performing one prepared piece for that instrument. Each applicant must provide her own accompanist, as backing tracks are not permitted. Copies of all repertoire must be provided to the Director of Music before the audition.

Successful applicants awarded scholarships on more than one instrument will receive a Music Scholarship for a single principal instrument only.

Expectations

Music Scholarship recipients are expected to play an active role in the musical life of the College, including participation in lessons, rehearsals, ensembles, and designated activities. Ensemble placement will be determined by the Director of Music and outlined in the formal offer.

Recipients are also expected to participate in the elective music program in Years 9 and 10, and to undertake at least two units of VCE Music.

All Music Scholarships are subject to annual review by the Director of Music to monitor progress, engagement, and commitment to the musical life of the College. A review meeting may be held in Semester Two each year with the student, Parent(s)/Guardian(s), and the Director of Music to discuss progress and confirm ongoing scholarship tenure against agreed objectives.

The Sport Scholarships are open to new students entering Years 7, 8 or 9; and will be awarded to students who will make a significant contribution to the sporting life of the College through participation, performance and leadership in sport. Boarders entering Year 9 are strongly encouraged to apply.

Through participation in our Prep to 12 school based Physical Education program, specialised sport co-curricular activities and our extended community pathways, º«Å®Ðã students have a proud history of becoming ‘physically active for life’.

Our sporting program develops courageous and confident young female athletes and offers the opportunity for our students to combine a love of sport and their studies.

Selection Criteria

• Outstanding performances at representative, state or national level in º«Å®Ðã pathway and/or program sports.
• A willingness to commit to their sport at º«Å®Ðã and represent the College at all reasonable opportunities whilst pursuing high performance goals.
• An ambition to set high standards in College sporting programs beyond their specialised sport.
• Engagement in the life of the College and participation in a range of co-curricular activities.
• Commitment to uphold the College values and demonstrate leadership amongst fellow students and athletes at all times.

Following the examination, shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview with the Principal and Director of Sport. The scholarship process is highly confidential and the final decision on awarding a scholarship is at the Principal’s discretion.

For families in rural and regional communities, boarding is a significant and deeply considered step.

Each year, Boarding Scholarships are awarded to new students entering Year 9, 10 or 11. The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• A sound academic record
• A commitment to the values and ethos of the College

The Boarding Scholarship provides partial remission of tuition fees only. Families are responsible for all other associated educational costs, including boarding fees. Boarding scholarship offers are not negotiable.

In accepting a Boarding Scholarship, families acknowledge that if a student leaves the College before completing her schooling, the equivalent value of tuition fee remission received will be repayable for the period of enrolment under the scholarship arrangement.

Awarded to an outstanding new Year 7 student, this means-tested scholarship supports a young woman who demonstrates academic promise, strength of character and a commitment to her community, and whose family may not otherwise have the financial means to access a º«Å®Ðã education.

Made possible through the generosity of our benefactors, the Foundation Scholarship opens doors for capable and aspiring students to flourish academically, grow in confidence and embrace opportunities to learn, lead and contribute. The º«Å®Ðã Alumnae Association Scholarship celebrates the enduring connection between º«Å®Ðã and its alumnae community, supporting the next generation of young women to experience the richness of a º«Å®Ðã education.

Commencing in 2028, this means-tested scholarship offers 25% tuition fee assistance from Year 7 to Year 12 for a daughter of a º«Å®Ðã Alumna whose family may benefit from financial support to make a º«Å®Ðã education possible.

Awarded to an outstanding new Year 7 student, the scholarship recognises academic promise, strength of character, and a demonstrated commitment to contributing positively to both the º«Å®Ðã and wider community.

Through the generosity of the º«Å®Ðã Alumnae Association, this scholarship honours the College’s legacy while strengthening pathways for families seeking to continue their connection with º«Å®Ðã.
