The º«Å®Ðã Foundation Scholarship is a means-tested scholarship awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic potential, personal excellence, and a strong desire to contribute to the º«Å®Ðã FCJ College community, but whose families may not have the financial means to afford a º«Å®Ðã education.
These scholarships are made possible through the generosity of benefactors committed to expanding access to exceptional educational opportunities.
Terms and Conditions
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Students must demonstrate the talent and potential to excel, contribute, and inspire others through the College’s Academic, Music, and Co-Curricular Programs.
- Be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
- Be a new student entering Year 7 at º«Å®Ðã FCJ College (not currently enrolled at the College)
- Demonstrate financial need through submission of required documentation
- Sit the º«Å®Ðã Academic Scholarship test conducted by Academic Assessment Services (AAS). Cost is $120 as of 2025.
- Complete and submit the º«Å®Ðã Scholarship Application Form and the Means-Testing Form.
- Provide all required supporting documentation.
2. Scholarship Benefits
- The Scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees at º«Å®Ðã FCJ College
- The Scholarship does not cover uniforms, textbooks, camps, excursions, private music lessons, or other incidental fees unless otherwise stated.
- The Scholarship is non-refundable and non-deferrable
3. Application Process
Step 1: Application Submission
Scholarship Applications open in October and close in February each year. Applicants must complete the Scholarship Application Form, pay a non-refundable registration fee of $120 (2025) and submit:
- Student’s birth certificate
- The latest two school reports
- Most recent NAPLAN results
- Two most recent ATO tax returns of parent(s)/guardian(s)
- Any professional reports detailing learning needs (if applicable)
- Custodial or legal documents (if applicable)
- Confirmation of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage (if applicable)
We request that you only submit the requested documents above. Additional documentation such as certificates, awards etc. will not be taken into consideration when assessing scholarship applications.
Step 2: Means-Testing
- Complete and submit the º«Å®Ðã Scholarship Application Form and the Means-Testing Form.
- Families must provide comprehensive evidence of financial need, including full copies of two (2) most recent tax returns. See list above
- Please include a covering letter outlining the circumstances and reason for applying for a Means-Tested Scholarship.
- Failure to submit the completed form may result in exclusion from the selection process.
Step 3: Interview
- Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview with the Principal or a designated staff member.
- Interviews may be conducted in person or via video conferencing.
Step 4: Offer and Confirmation
- Successful applicants will be notified via email.
- To confirm acceptance, families must:
- Sign the scholarship offer letter.
- Pay a confirmation fee of $1,500 and a Tuition Contribution Fee of $2,800. These are non-refundable and non-transferable.
4. Assessment and Selection
Scholarships are awarded based on:
- Academic performance and testing results.
- Evidence of outstanding achievement or potential in co-curricular areas.
- Interview outcomes.
- Financial need as demonstrated by the means-testing documentation.
- Availability of places in the desired year level.
Applications will be considered by the º«Å®Ðã Scholarship Committee. All decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome. Results from academic testing are not released to applicants or families.
5. Conditions of Ongoing Scholarship
- Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress and uphold the values and expectations of º«Å®Ðã FCJ College.
- Students are expected to participate fully in the life of the College, including academic, co-curricular and community service activities.
- The Scholarship may be reviewed annually and may be withdrawn if a student fails to meet the above expectations or if there is a significant change in the family’s financial circumstances.
- Families must notify the College of any material change in financial position.
6. Additional Information
- Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Unsuccessful applicants may reapply in future years, provided eligibility criteria continue to be met.
