ANZAC Day 2024

On Friday, 19 April, a group of Year 9 and 10 students attended Melbourne Legacy’s 92nd Annual ANZAC Commemoration, featuring a powerful address by Her Excellency Professor Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria.

Upon arrival, students received a small sprig of rosemary, symbolising the enduring remembrance of Australian soldiers. This tradition dates back to World War I, where soldiers carried rosemary as a tribute to fallen diggers, a practice continued to this day on Anzac Day.

The ceremony included participation from Defence Force Cadets and a RAAF fly-over. During the proceedings, Year 9 students Bonnie Grace and Nina Stevenson paid their respects by laying a wreath at the eternal flame, honouring the timeless Anzac spirit and the sacrifices that continue to inspire us.
