Another year of outstanding results at the VFG Competition!

Congratulations to the 24 º«Å®Ðã girls who competed in the Victorian Flute Guild Ensemble Competition at MLC on Sunday 26 May 2019. We had nine flute ensembles competing in eight sections, comprising duets with piano, quartets, and two large flute ensembles.
º«Å®Ðã came first place in eight sections, and came second in two sections (with two quartets in one section and they were awarded first and second place).
Competing against schools such as MLC, Scotch College, St Kevin’s College, St Catherine’s School, Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak, Balwyn High School, Camberwell High School, St Michael’s Grammar School, Our Lady of Mercy College, Mazenod, Trinity Grammar School, Shelford, Sienna, Ruyton and Tintern, the girls performed confidently and were organised, punctual and looked immaculate.
Congratulations to the Chamber Flute Ensemble (18 and under large ensemble) who won first place in their category and received the following comments from the adjudicator:
Item: Greensleeves Fantasia
Some outstandingly beautiful piccolo playing was supported by the beautifully blended sonorities of the lower parts. Some well in tune unison playing from the lower parts in the second section. A ravishingly beautiful performance.
Item: Single Yellow Line
Such a well-disciplined, rhythmically secure performance. The contemporary techniques were most ably demonstrated by all players. Congratulations on a really tight performance with excellent intonation. What a well-disciplined group you are. Keep up the fine work.
